Adventures Close to Home
Wow, who wrote all of this stuff? I was just reading through it and I’m uncertain if it was me.
I think I’m going to delete this soon.
Why did everyone stop writing danceable songs based on the lives of historical figures? Why isn’t there such a thing as Wikipedia House? Biography Beat? Fact Step? (“You’re my fact steppin’ cuz!”)
This is an extremely good question.
“[E-40] posted the above photo to his twitter a few months ago and it might be the most appropriate picture of his career. Earl is gleefully lying on the floor of the studio in his socks with two jugs of Rossi at his side, committing his lyrics to a sprawling stack of legal pads. He still looks like an excited little kid, even though he’s 40+ and a father himself. That balance of wisdom and childlike enthusiasm has long been the appeal of 40.”

The advantages of this cover of The Cure’s Just Like Heaven are as follows:
1. J. Mascis is more in my vocal range than Robert Smith, so I don’t feel as stupid singing along to this version.
2. The way Dinosaur Jr. does the chorus is hilarious.
